More tidbits of information:
1. Dr. Dassau will be on the Cynthia Georgiana radio program tomorrow morning from 9am until 11. If you want to hear it from the “horse’s mouth” and hear not only about the good things that are going on in the district but also the truth about the contract, that’s a pretty good time to call in. The number is 357–1290. It’s broadcast on FM 104.1 and AM 1290. It’s worth a phone call.
2. According to the business manager of the district¹—the person who is paid to run the figures—the average cost of the teacher’s contract on a $200,000 home is 32¢ per day. Yeah—less than $10.00 a month:
Incremental Cost on $200,000 Home*
* Fitzwilliam: $92/yr, $7.66/mo, 25¢/day
* Gilsum: $114/yr, $9.5/mo, 31¢/day
* Richmond: $118/yr, $9.83/mo, 32¢/day
* Roxbury: $60/yr, $5/mo, 16¢/day
* Sullivan: $128/yr, $10.6/mo, 35¢/day
* Swanzey: $136/yr, $11.33/mo, 37¢/day
* Troy: $154/yr, $12.83/mo, 42¢/day
* Cross District Average: $118/yr, $9.80/mo, .32¢/day
3. If you needed more proof that the Monadnock Taxpayer’s Association is full of mistakes, lies, and deceptions, check out this site. Note that it’s from the School Board—the whole school board voted to support this and try and get the information out. The elected representatives of the district recognize there are liars among them. Neat.
In a nutshell, it says that the Monadnock Taxpayer’s Association is over $600 off their quote for the cost of the teacher’s contract. They’ve more than tripled the cost.
Hmm. First there’s the “accidental” insertion of a provision in the contract, and now I’m sure there’s the “accidental” moving of a decimal point.
Of course, the net effect of all these “mistakes” “typos” and “oopsies” is that the public is misled. But hey, why should they know the truth?
